There's no doubt that February half-term is a popular time for family ski holidays. The children are on school holiday, the snow conditions are great across the Alps, the sun is (generally) shining, and many resorts host a larger-than-usual variety of family-friendly events.
This season, blue skies and snowy slopes could be found from Chatel in the Haute Savoie right down to Briancon in the Southern Alps, and there's been plenty going on too. Below are some of our favourite webcam shots from the week that have 'perfect day in the mountains' written all over them!
La Rosiere
For half-term, La Rosière tourism office usually organises several special events dedicated to children. One of the events this February was a Mardi Gras carnival! Families got into the carnival spirit by donning their favourite fancydress outfits and costumes, and parading around the village.
Les Carroz
Les Carroz host several fun activities for children on the slopes over February half-term. As well as children's Zumba lessons and a special family session on the village ice rink; this season there was also a professional freestyle demonstration at the Oasis Cool Zone snowpark followed by a fire show.
Les Gets
Love was all around in Les Gets where they held a special event for Valentine's Day called 'I love Mont Chéry'. Couples could share a romantic aperitif in the Mont Chéry bubble with the option of dinner in the Belvédère mountain restaurant afterwards! The bubble cars were beautifully decorated and the nighttime views of the village were magnificent, definitely something to add to the winter bucket list.
Les Saisies
Les Saisies has a several fun activities for children including a nature treasure hunt! It's a fun way for children to learn about Nordic skiing by following the Marmot mascot and completing the challenges along the way.
Valmorel
Valmorel loves putting together family-friendly activities throughout the season. This year, families have been treated to superhero parades, a Princesses and Pirates Ball and Star Wars nights! They have also had some events planned just for teenagers.
