My first ski holiday in La Plagne: a teenager's perspective
Erin headed to La Plagne in April 2025 with friends and family. Read about her favourite slopes, where she stayed and the exciting new experience she tried.
Plagne Soleil & Plagne Village combine one of La Plagne's highest and sunniest locations with easy access to the vast Paradiski ski area. These attractive Savoyard-style villages offer a quieter atmosphere than the larger resorts while remaining exceptionally well connected for exploring the mountain.
Accommodation ranges from family-friendly apartments to luxury ski-in/ski-out residences with wellness facilities, pools and spas. With reliable snow, superb intermediate skiing, easy links to ski schools and beautiful mountain views, they are an excellent choice for families, couples and groups seeking convenience without sacrificing tranquillity.

Plagne Soleil & Plagne Village offer an excellent balance between convenience and tranquillity. Situated at 2,050m, they enjoy reliable snow conditions, stunning mountain views and easy access to the wider Paradiski ski area. Unlike some of the busier parts of La Plagne, these villages have a more relaxed atmosphere while still providing quick access to shops, restaurants and skiing.
Accommodation includes cosy family apartments, superior residences and luxury ski-in/ski-out properties with exceptional facilities. Many residences feature swimming pools, wellness areas, spas, fitness facilities and spacious self-catered apartments.
Yes. Many of the accommodation options in both villages offer ski-in/ski-out access or skiing very close to the doorstep. This makes them particularly attractive for families and keen skiers who want quick and easy access to the slopes each day.
Facilities vary by property but often include indoor pools, outdoor pools, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, spas, fitness areas, ski lockers, lounges, underground parking and family-friendly amenities. Several residences, such as White Pearl, also offer luxury wellness facilities and premium services.
Yes. These villages are among the quieter options within La Plagne. They appeal to guests looking for a more peaceful holiday while still wanting excellent ski access and a convenient location close to the centre of the wider resort.
Plagne Centre has more shops, services and nightlife, while Plagne Soleil & Plagne Village offer a more peaceful atmosphere, attractive chalet-style architecture and excellent ski access. Many guests prefer them because they provide easier access to tranquillity without losing connectivity.
The great thing is you can enjoy the best of both worlds as it's easy to take the pedestrianised inter-village 'yoghurt pot' lifts from Plagne Village to Plagne Centre to mooch around the shops or go out for dinner. The mini-supermarket in Plagne Centre is slightly bigger so for more choice head there.
Yes. Their central location allows easy ski access to Plagne Centre, Belle Plagne, Plagne Bellecôte, Aime La Plagne and down to Les Coches to catch the Vanoise Express across to the Les Arcs side of Paradiski.
Pedestrian lifts from Plagne Villages to Plagne Centre, and from Plagne Centre up to Aime 2000 mean you can access these other villages without skis too.
