Southern Alps

The Southern Alps resorts benefit from both high-altitude skiing with superb snow conditions and generous sunshine. Gentle slopes ideal for families, pristine forests and steeper slopes for experienced skiers, mean that there is something for everyone. 

Historic Montgenèvre sits on the French border with Italy, meaning an international ski area and a special, relaxed Franco-Italian atmosphere. It's also one of the oldest ski resorts, it's over 100 years old! Serre Chevalier is a friendly resort with a large sunny ski area, and a beautiful natural thermal spa. A little further south, Vars is a traditional French resort with lots of tree-lined runs. Isola 2000 is France's most southerly major resort, it has a touch of the French Riviera about it and is just 90 minutes drive from the Mediterranean.
