My first ski holiday in La Plagne: a teenager's perspective

La Plagne did not disappoint. It truly is a resort for everyone, cruising blue runs span across the mountain, opening up the majority of the ski area for all abilities. For those who want to test themselves, there are some thigh burning nature runs. After a couple of tumbles, there is nothing better than relaxing in a deckchair at the top of the Grand Rochette.
La Plagne had a great mix of slopes for all abilities. My daughter skied for the first time on the ‘big slopes’. Usually gracing her presence on the small slopes next to the magic carpets, this time she took her first chairlift (which she loved) and discovered the Colarado fun park and blue runs coming down into Plagne Centre. She also loved the easy blue runs down from Plagne Village to Plagne Centre, especially as that day it was snowing which made it even more magical.
There's pedestrian lifts connecting Plagne Centre to Plagne Villages and Aime 2000 which are open late too if you fancy trying somewhere different for dinner. We loved the zipline and the indoor shopping galleries were nice to break up ski days. I'd love to try the Olympic Bobsleigh track next time I'm in La Plagne!
Our apartment at Manaka was luxurious yet homely and we loved the views of Mont Blanc and the resort from our balcony. The residence is ideally situated for doorstep skiing.
The skiing in La Plagne was scenic and varied and we would certainly consider going there in early season again. It is the first time we've been lucky enough to ski in opening week and we enjoyed excellent snow conditions and quiet pistes.
