Saint-Jorioz is around 10km south of Annecy in an elevated position, the area is peaceful and open, with views across Lake Annecy and the surrounding mountains. Duingt and Albigny are on the shores of lake Annecy. All three offer a slower-paced, scenic setting compared to busy ski resorts, while still being close enough to enjoy Annecy’s shops, restaurants and lakeside atmosphere.
Will I be staying in a ski resort?
No, Neither Saint-Jorioz, Duingt nor Albigny are ski resorts. They are lakeside villages that work as a base for a winter break and skiing in nearby areas. You’ll need to travel to the slopes each day, but in return you get more space, better value and a different kind of Alpine experience combining skiing with lake scenery.

You have a choice of ski areas within easy reach. Semnoz, around 20 minutes away, is a smaller family-friendly resort with around 18 slopes and excellent cross-country trails. Larger resorts like La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand are around 45 minutes to an hour away, offering more extensive skiing for all abilities.
