La Marmotte (hotel)
The very popular Hôtel la Marmotte became one the resort’s first hotels in 1947 and has now belonged to the Mirigay family for 3 generations. The Hotel la Marmotte exudes the tranquil atmosphere of a traditional alpine chalet with its extensive use of wood throughout the public areas (entrance, reception, bar, lounges and restaurant), combining authentic Savoyard style with the very best of modern comforts and convenience.
You will find here all the ingredients for a highly enjoyable and relaxing stay: excellent cuisine, very comfortable guest rooms, unrivaled facilities, including a lounge and 2 bars, free WiFi, heated ski lockers, children service in winter and babysitting on request, luggage room, bike storage room, a quite remarkable 800m2 leisure area (the Séréni-cîmes Spa) with hammam, sauna, footbath, sensory shower experience (over 16’s only), swimming pool (17m x 7m) and hot tub (all included) and massages (10 cabins and beauty treatment (supplement, payable locally). They have been awarded the “Spas de France” label in recognition of the quality of their centre and our facilities, receiving the maximum “5 lotus” category.
Locally, the restaurants enjoy a well-deserved reputation for the high quality of its cuisine based on fresh ingredients. We therefore offer the Hôtel la Marmotte on a half board basis (in 3 restaurants from December, 21st to the end of March and in 1 restaurant at the end of the season), including a substantial buffet breakfast and 3 course dinner selected from the à la carte menu. Guests now enjoy a choice of 3 restaurants:
- The Piste Noire, serving traditional and refined French cuisine based on fresh produce form local markets. It boasts panoramic views across the slopes.
- There is a further choice with the mountain brasserie/grill the Biskatcha (with adjoining Tapas bar l’Anka) which serves local specialties, grilled meats etc all cooked on the authentic wood-fired BBQand
- A Savoyard specialties restaurant: The Pivotte. Situated around the warm, welcoming fireplace, it serves features regional specialties and cheese dishes that showcase local produce, such as fondue, matouille, pork hotpot, alpine boards and fish from the local lakes.
Self-service microwave oven where you can reheat bottles or children’s meals at any time.
There is a separate children’s sitting if required, supervised with games and activities during French school holidays. The children’s activity facilitator runs a series of fun, creative activities between 4pm and 10pm in school holidays throughout the winter. Children can also get together with their friends at 7pm each evening for dinner – without their parents! There are also 2 games rooms:
- A children’s activity area, with educational toys, books, comics, etc.
- A games room for adults and children alike, with arcade games, table football, table tennis, etc.
These dedicated spaces, covering around 100 m², are the perfect place for adults and children alike to have fun.

You can also find a 4th restaurant up on the slopes. La Païka, situated on the La Turche slopes in Les Gets, is an authentic restaurant drenched in sunlight, in peaceful surroundings with unspoiled views across the valley from the terrace. The restaurant’s specialties include red meat, poultry and fish grilled on the wood-fired barbecue, traditional dishes, specialty cheese dishes and a sumptuous buffet of home-made desserts.
Hotel bedrooms:
All of the hotel’s 63 rooms reflect its traditional chalet ambiance. With wood décor, warm fabrics and luxuriant duvets, patchwork quilts and plump pillows, you’ll never want to leave! Free WiFi, telephone, flat-screen TV, slippers and bathrobes, mini-safe, and hairdryer are available in the rooms. Children’s equipment is also available on request (cot, baby monitor, baby bath, high chair). Bath or shower room depending on room type.
The spacious, comfortable suites are ideal for families and groups of friends. With harmonious styles and colours, decorative designer objects and stunning wallpapers, each suite has its own unique, elegant ambiance. Every suite comes with a tray of complimentary refreshments, a Nespresso coffee maker and a small fridge.
