Our favourite slope in Flaine is the long Serpentine blue which has panoramic views (including of Mont Blanc) from the top of the Grandes Platieres. This fun, wide run takes you back down to the main bowl in Flaine.
The Bauhaus modernist architecture makes Flaine unique, especially in the main resort area. The resort also features art installations by Picasso and Vasarely.
Yes it's purpose built, but it's built to blend into the environment. There's plenty of tree-lined skiing which makes the skiing great in bad weather. The Grand Massif ski area we think is totally underrated, with fast lifts and long runs...We all enjoyed the long, cruising Serpentine and beautiful Mephisto in Flaine but the highlight was the tree lined Portet run in Les Carroz Les Molliets area. It was slowly snowing every time we skied down it and it was so picture perfect, it almost didn’t look real.
We couldn't have chosen better! Flaine has a fantastic lift/slope system meaning we could do quite a lot of skiing and the proximity to ski school for children makes mornings so much easier.
We would definitely stay here again for the ski-in ski-out facility, the space and the friendly hosts.
