The French village of Vaujany, which shares the vast ski area of Alpe d'Huez, had the idea to run its recently-built Enversin d'Oz gondola slowly in the evenings, and serve up a fondue dinner to passengers riding up in it.
Vaujany is suitable for everyone with easy access to Oz 3300 and Alpe d'Huez. It's setting makes it such a pretty resort.
The slopes in this ski area are some of my favourites.
Le Saphir apartment was beautiful and had everything we needed and more. Stunning views from balcony and 2 minutes from lifts and ski school meeting point.
A good resort for less experienced skiers with good links into Alpe d'Huez. Getting busier each year so make sure you book up early for any activities, restaurants etc.
We love Vaujany, this is our second ski holiday in Vaujany and Le Saphir apartments. Everything in Vaujany is so convenient for skiers. 2 minutes from accomodation door to ski lifts and ESF meeting point. Lifts are modern and quick. The Vaujany/Oz and Alpe Dhuez ski area are beautiful, with many runs to suit all abilities. We loved the long runs on the Vaujany side as much as the Alpe Dhuez side, very pretty.Â

Yes, Vaujany is widely recognised as one of the most family-friendly ski resorts in Europe. It holds the Famille Plus label, offers excellent facilities for children, beginner-friendly skiing and an impressive leisure centre. The welcoming village atmosphere and range of family-sized apartments make it particularly appealing to those travelling with children.
Many accommodation options are located within walking distance of the lifts. Some residences are around 70m from the cable car, while others are a short walk from the main gondolas linking directly into the ski area. The village's escalator and lift system also makes getting around easy.
Not really, you really need to take the gondola from the village to access the ski area, so rather than looking for ski-in/ski-out options, it's about finding accommodation close to or within easy reach of the gondola. Lift access is efficient and convenient, allowing guests to reach the ski area quickly.
Many residences enjoy excellent mountain views thanks to the village's elevated position on a sunny mountainside. Several south-facing and mountain-view apartments provide impressive panoramas across the surrounding peaks, valleys and ski terrain.

ESF Vaujany is the principal ski school in the resort and offers lessons for children and adults from beginner to advanced levels. As places are popular during peak holiday periods, we recommend arranging lessons as early as possible to secure preferred dates and times.
The main lift pass provides access to the Alpe d’Huez ski area, which offers 250km of pistes across multiple linked resorts. We can pre-book lift passes before departure, helping you avoid resort queues and maximise your time on the slopes from day one.
