By the final afternoon, we are all able to ski together. This excites me far more than the girls, who tell me off for going on about how great it is. We manage to ski the Tignes Loop - a route that starts at the Palafour lift and winds around Val Claret via the Merles chair before taking you back down to the other side of Le Lac...it's the perfect run for the kids. All blues, all in the sunshine and with some stunning views to enjoy.
Tignes le lac is a great base from which to explore this vast ski area. For those who love cruisy blues there are plenty (and up high too) so you can really make the most of the different sectors. My favourite was Henri which takes you down into Tignes Val Claret. Going in April meant we had the treat of seeing marmottes coming out of their winter hibernation! There is so much to ski that I’ll definitely be back!
The Jam Bar is small, informal and has a great atmosphere for apres.
Le Taos apartments and hotel are amazing - views and decor spectacular - L’Escale Blanche is really good, Les Planches is next level for food, do the menu degustation and wine flight at least once!
