I loved Les Deux Alpes as a resort, plenty of individual shops and the most amazing cheese shop. You can walk the whole resort, which in the main is along one street, in about 25 minutes. However, the many bars/bistros/creperies to suit all budgets will entice you on your way. The resort is purpose built but it's got a real charm to it.
It's a bustling resort for those that like a lively vibe. There's an epic snow park and also a fantastic beginners' area. They've invested really heavily in the lifts and they're incredibly fast with multi entry points throughout the resort. We loved the beautiful views. The front de neige almost feels like you're by the seaside with little activities dotted along. Really great if you have non skiers in your party.
The Hotel Cote Brune has refurbished its rooms, which are excellent.
Go high early - there's no need to come back down as all the fun slopes are higher up. The beginner's snow park is fun and the new fun slopes around the resort are a good addition. Smithy's is great for dinner and dancing at the weekend. The street stall selling tartiflette is amazing.
Neige et Soleil was great, felt very new and up to date. There's also a ski hire shop right underneath. Plenty of room in the apartment. Great access to main part of town, and good access to lifts. There's also a bus stop right outside for weary kids on the way back from the main lift.
Very friendly resort, lots of shops, plenty of supermarkets, and the skiing was fab.
