Beginners

Plagne Soleil & Plagne Villages are suitable for beginners, with a small local learning area and access to wider beginner zones across La Plagne.

Around both villages, there are gentle blue runs designed for progression once confidence builds. Across the resort, designated beginner areas and free lifts make learning accessible and flexible. “Cool Ski” zones also provide safe, protected areas for early development.

Intermediates

This is an excellent base for intermediates. With around 80% of La Plagne’s terrain made up of blue and red runs, the area is ideal for cruising.

The villages are surrounded by blue pistes that lead directly into Plagne Centre on one side and Plagne Bellecôte on the other, making it easy to explore the wider area. Plagne Centre has some interesting blues from the top of the Colorado lift and it’s easy to get back to Plagne Soleil & Villages on the Bergerie lift.

In the other direction, you’ll head up, again on the Bergerie lift. At the top you’ll find a route back to the villages but also a choice of lovely blues which take you down to Plagne Bellecôte where you have so many options of blues, reds and higher altitude skiing. From there, routes open up across the full domain, allowing for long, varied ski days without repetition.

Wide pistes and gentle gradients make this a particularly confidence-building environment.

Advanced

Advanced skiers have quick access to more challenging terrain across La Plagne.

The Bellecôte Glacier offers steep black runs, moguls and off-piste options, while areas such as Roche de Mio and the runs from the top of the Becoin lift above Plagne Centre provide fast, technical descents.

Off-piste opportunities are extensive across the Paradiski area, though exploring these safely should be done with a guide.

Mountain fun zones

Paradiski offers multiple snowparks, boardercross courses and freestyle areas on its La Plagne side. Just above Plagne Villages is the Buffalo Kids fun slope, which complements the Buffalo Park fun zone above Plagne Centre. The Riders Nation snowpark above Montchavin-Les Coches has something for all abilities, from beginners to advanced riders.

Nordic skiing

There are 85km of cross-country trails in La Plagne and more across Paradiski, with scenic routes through forests and valleys offering a quieter alternative to alpine skiing. Our favourite setting would be the 30km of trails amongst stunning scenery around Champagny-le-Haut.

Family-friendly experiences

Plagne Soleil & Villages are well suited to families. Plagne Villages has a dedicated sledging area that’s free to use, and Plagne Centre has an outdoor ice rink. Both of which offer a fun way to end the day.

You can try Snake Luge from Plagne Centre. You’ll ride on a train of sledges driven by an instructor. Ride at the front for a relatively smoother experience or pick the back and hang on to your sledge!

The calm environment and compact layout also make them particularly manageable for families with younger children.

Adventure activities

For more adrenaline-fuelled activities, La Plagne offers a range of unique experiences. The Olympic bobsleigh track, located just below Plagne 1800, provides a high-speed thrill, at speeds which can reach over 100km/h.

Easily accessible from Plagne Soleil and Villages, between Plagne Centre and Aime 2000, there is a 600m long zipline, from where you can enjoy incredible views (as long as you can keep your eyes open!).

Scenic and unique options

Just above Plagne Soleil and Villages at an altitude of 2100m, you can experience dog sledding on the Dou du Praz plateau, where there is a loop offering panoramic views. For pedestrians, it’s a 20 minute walk from Plagne Villages.

You can also walk a relatively flat 4km loop around the Dou du Praz plateau from where there are breathtaking views of Mont Blanc. There is a mountain restaurant for a pitstop at the beginning and end of the walk.

Local dining and atmosphere

Dining in Plagne Soleil & Villages is relaxed and low-key, with a handful of restaurants offering traditional alpine dishes as well as cafés for morning coffee and pastries.

One of our of team loved the friendly welcome at Monica’s, which is a restaurant/bar right next to the slopes in Plagne Soleil. It’s also got a sports bar in the basement. Their sunny terrace was the perfect place to meet after morning ski school and make afternoon ski plans over a hot chocolate or coffee.

The atmosphere is calm and friendly, making it ideal for quiet evenings after skiing.

Access to wider choice

For more variety, Plagne Centre is just below, and easily access by the Telebus bubble lifts. It offers a wider selection of restaurants, bars and shops. Across La Plagne and Paradiski, there are dozens of mountain restaurants, ensuring plenty of choice throughout your stay.

You can easily mix peaceful evenings in your village with more lively afternoons or nights elsewhere.

Amenities and convenience

The villages have basic amenities including mini-markets, sports shops and essential services. For anything more extensive, Plagne Centre acts as the main hub.

Free shuttle buses and lift links make it simple to move around the resort, ensuring everything remains easily accessible.
