Built by the acclaimed mountain architects, MGM, Le Hameau du Rocher Blanc is in typical mountain style with extensive use of wood and stone. The building is composed of two sections of large 2-3 floor chalet-style buildings (with lifts), one of which houses the reception and pool as well as some of the apartments. The resort centre is just 200m away from Hameau du Rocher Blanc apartments, with its restaurants, bars and shops.
About 100m apart, the newer section is closer to the resort centre (and ski lifts) and has access to all the facilities of the first building as follows:
A large reception lounge, pool table (payable) and comfortable sofas (accessible during reception opening hours),
Free access to the 'wellness area' including a private indoor heated pool (Hameau du Rocher Blanc 1 - 11, 5 m x 6, open Sun-Fri 09.00-12.00 and 16.00-19.30), Fitness room,
Sauna and steam room (1 free session per apartment per week, then payable),
Residence car park or resort underground parking (subject to availability),
Ski lockers.

Serre Chevalier is a really good proper French ski resort. Being able to ski through the trees is a major plus. The thermal baths in Les Moneitiers are excellent.
