Michelin has launched a similar scheme for hotels called Michelin Keys. In Meribel, Hotel Le Kaila has been awarded one – the first hotel in the resort to achieve this new accolade.
The emphasis on natural tones in the décor creates a soothing atmosphere that promotes a sense of calm and tranquillity. The warm hues used throughout the hotel's interior contribute to a welcoming and comfortable ambiance. These colours are carefully chosen to evoke feelings of coziness and relaxation, making guests feel at ease from the moment they step into the hotel. Filtered lighting plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall mood of the space.
Soft fabrics further contribute to the cozy stay offered by the hotel. Whether it's plush bedding, comfortable seating, or luxurious curtains, these fabrics add tactile comfort and a touch of luxury to the experience. Guests can sink into softness and truly indulge in their surroundings.
The hotel offers a generous and well-balanced breakfast included within the price. There is a wide choice of sweet and savoury food options. Take the time to wake up peacefully with the ‘So Detox’ buffet featuring a wide variety of organic, healthy and nutritional products, carefully selected to provide you with the best way to start your day.
Gourmet restaurant l’Ekrin at Le Kaila is the only restaurant in Meribel with a Michelin star. Laurent Azoulay (their Michelin-starred chef) cultivates the art of perfecting dishes using local produce in season for bold fine dining that combines heritage from Savoie and Provence. The wine menu is very extensive and offers bottles from the very best of France’s vineyards. Brasserie Le 80 is another restaurant option with a more relaxed atmosphere (arrange and pay locally for both restaurants for dinner).
You can also enjoy Le Roc, their bistro high in the mountains that can be reached on foot or by ski, for a sunny lunch or sunbathing, while enjoying the breathtaking panorama. There is also a cosy warm interior for indoor eating should you wish. Simple dishes are the order of the day, all homemade.
