Train Services

For those of you who prefer to leave their car at home and enjoy some of France’s prettiest landscapes, the train is a good alternative.

We can arrange two train options – direct Ski Train or Eurostar Beyond (with a change at Paris).

Ski Train

The Ski Train runs between 19th December 2009 (26th for night train) and 17th April 2010. Travel from London St Pancras (or Ashford International) direct to Moutiers or Bourg St Maurice. You can either travel on Friday night (allowing you to spend all day on piste Saturday) or Saturday morning (arriving in time for an evening meal). Return Saturday morning or night. Please note these are NOT sleeper trains.

- Bourg St Maurice serves the Paradiski and Espace Killy areas well (Paradiski – Peisey-Vallandry (Les Arcs), Montchavin-Les Coches (La Plagnes + Espace Killy – Tignes (Les Brevieres) + Sainte-Foy).

- Moutiers is suited to the 3 Valleys ski area and part of Paradiski (Paradiski – Champagny + 3 Valleys – Brides les Bains (Meribel).

Guideline Transfer Distances

Moutiers – Brides les Bains is 6km

Moutiers – Champagny is 18km

Bourg St Maurice – Peisey is 19km

Bourg St Maurice – Montchavin-Les Coches is 15km

Bourg St Maurice – Tignes is 31km

Bourg St Maurice – Sainte-Foy is 12km

The night train outward runs from 1st January 2010 – 2nd April 2010 (Fridays only) and returns from 26th December 2009 – 10th April 2010 (Saturdays only).

The day train runs outward from 19th December 2009 – 10th April 2010 (Saturdays only) and returns from 2nd January 2010 – 17th April 2010 (Saturdays only).

It’s worth bearing in mind that if you take the evening train both ways then you will benefit from 8 days of skiing instead of the usual 6.

Eurostar Beyond

Eurostar direct train from London St Pancreas (Or Ashford International) to Paris and then change to TGV to either (resorts in brackets are resorts/regions that are located close to the station):

Chambery (3 Valleys, Paradiski)

Aime le Plagne

Moutiers (as above)

French sections of the itineraries via Paris can only be booked 3 months ahead of actual travel dates.

Supplement per person (return) – Eurostar + TGV - Based on indicative fares to larger stations such as Lyon, Grenoble, Chambery, Moutiers, Bourg St Maurice, Chamonix or Annecy. Other stations maybe available at a supplement.

First deduct £130 per party, then add the following per person:

The fares on the left are given for guidance only. Exact fare depends on availability, date and time of travel and will be quoted at time of booking.

*Off-Peak is Monday-Thursday in both directions + designated trains on Friday-Saturday.

Travelling times

London Waterloo to Paris Gare du Nord: 3 hours

Transfer by underground to Gare de Lyon: allow 1 hour

Which stations and average journey times from Paris?

Times are given as indication only and are for direct TGV trains. Other (longer) possibilities are available with changes in Lyon, Chambery or Annecy.
