What's new for summer 2020
We now have even more choice for your mountain holiday to the French Alps, plus some new additions in other beautiful mountain areas in France! Take a look at some sneak peeks for this coming summer season as well as the recent additions from 2019 below. There are plenty of reasons to visit the mountains in the summer months...

Instants Absolu Ecolodge and spa, Cantal in the Auvergne
Set amongst the volcanic natural park of the Auvergne, the Massif de la Pinatelle with its pine forest, lakes and wild rural landscapes is the perfect spot for reconnecting with nature. In its peaceful location, on the edge of a lake, Instants d’Absolu Ecolodge and spa is a 300 year old 12-bedroom farmhouse that has been lovingly restored and encourages guests to reconnect with nature and their own well-being. Villard de Lans, Oisans
We are adding another unique and pretty alpine village to our collection this summer! Villard de Lans can be found in the Vercors regional natural park, just 35 minutes from Grenoble airport. Offering a wonderful selection of activities to enjoy, including exploring the local caves, an adventure park, Nordic walking and mountain biking. This year also sees the famed Tour de France stopping here at the end of stage 16 of the race on Bastille day (French national holiday), which will surely be a wonderful time to soak up the atmosphere whilst staying in this charming area of the French Alps. Jiva Hill, Monts Jura
The Monts Jura area has an abundance to do and discover on a summer break. There is plenty to explore just a few kilometres from the resort of Monts Jura, such Chateau de Voltaire, vineyards, the chance to find out how Gruyère cheese is made, or wander around Yvoire on the shores of Lake Geneva. Hotel La Bouitte, St Martin de Belleville (Les Trois Vallées)
St Martin de Belleville is perfect for a summer Alpine holiday, the surrounding area has a particularly rich natural and architectural heritage. The intimate and luxurious 5* hotel La Bouitte is located in the pretty hamlet of Saint Marcel, 1km from the centre of the charming village of St Martin de Belleville. The family run hotel boasts a fantastic 3 Michelin starred restaurant serving traditional Savoyard flavours with a twist, as well as the Bela Vya Spa, offering wellness treatments inspired by the native plants which grow locally.
Les Chalets Home, St Martin de Belleville (Les Trois Vallées)
The summer months in St Martin de Belleville offer visitors the opportunity to try a number of outdoor pursuits, including ice climbing, via ferrata, and white-water swimming all whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings in Les Trois Vallées. The stylish self-catered apartments at Chalets Home are situated just 300m from the centre of the village, there is a choice of two 5-bedroom chalets (sleeping up to 12) or three 3 to 5-bedroom apartments (sleeping up to 10), all with ensuites. All these stylish properties boast a fully equipped kitchen, living area (with fireplace), balcony and unlimited free WiFi.
L'Alexane and Suites d'Alexane, Samoens (Grand Massif)
The traditional village of Samoëns is popular with summer visitors with the rivers Giffre, Dranse, and Arve for fun in the water and chairlifts/gondolas allowing access to the highest points for mountain walks. The recently-built stunning self-catered apartments and hotel suites Alexane are 150m from the centre of Samoëns and only opened in December 2018.This high-quality residence has 31 apartments and a number of hotel suites. There is access to the spacious leisure centre with heated pool and sauna, a bar-lounge area with WiFi, children’s area, and free underground parking. An Italian restaurant, Fabio, is also located in the residence.
Les Chalets des Cimes, Les Saisies (Mont Blanc & Chamonix Valley)
Les Saisies draws visitors because it sits between the 'Beaufortain' valley and the 'Val d'Arly' valley, two magnificent areas of Savoie, with views towards Mont Blanc. The resort also has a brand new 4* residence for this season. Les Chalets des Cimes offers mountain views and is ideally situated just 200m from the resort centre. Facilities include panoramic lounge, multimedia room, indoor pool and wellness area, and free WiFi. An on-site restaurant is also planned.
Areches Beaufort, Mont Blanc & Chamonix Valley
We have added the traditional, friendly Beaufortain village of Arêches-Beaufort to our summer programme for this season. Found in the Savoie region, Arêches-Beaufort is known for the local speciality – Beaufort cheese. Visitors can visit the cheese cooperative and museum in nearby Beaufort to find out more about how the cheese is made and its history, and for those who get a midnight craving the museum has a cheese vending machine outside! The area also includes over 225km of marked trails and circuits for hiking or mountain biking.
La Cle des Cimes, Areches Beaufort
Stay at the brand new 4* residence La Cle des Cimes. Located 400m from the village centre of Arêches-Beaufort. This self-catered accommodation includes spacious well-appointed apartments. Facilities also include access to the indoor pool and wellness area and free WiFi.
Altaviva, Tignes 1800 (Tarentaise)
There is plenty to do in Tignes in the summer including skiing/snowboarding on the Grande Motte Glacier. Buy the exceptional value My Tignes Open card and get access to a range of free activities to keep the family busy. The brand new Altaviva apartments (opened December 2018) are spacious and have good views of the area. They are well-appointed with a living area and fully-equipped kitchen. There is also access to the indoor pool with south-facing terrace, wellness area, and free WiFi.
Club Hotel les Brevieres, Tignes les Brevieres (Tarentaise)
The 3* Club Hotel Les Brevières located in the pretty traditional village of Tignes les Brevières has been added to the Peak Retreats summer programme. The recently renovated hotel offers evening entertainment in the bar, LE SQU@T (area for teenagers), access to the sauna/hammam and jacuzzi, restaurant, and free outdoor parking.
Les Chalets Elena, Les Houches (Mont Blanc & Chamonix Valley)
Les Houches provides a great base for families wishing to explore this legendary valley. World-renowned sites such as the stunning Aiguille du Midi and Mer de Glace can be accessed from Chamonix and its many cable cars, the Montenvers train or the Mont-Blanc tramway. The recently opened beautiful self-catered apartments at Les Chalets Elena are found right in the village centre. These stylish apartments have access to the private indoor pool and wellness area, a bar-lounge with free WiFi, children’s area, and underground garage.
Anitea, Valmorel (Tarentaise)
The picturesque hamlet village of Valmorel is completely pedestrianised and the nearby mountains have featured in the famous Tour de France and offers a challenging climb for all cycling enthusiasts wishing to conquer the mountains whilst on summer holiday in the Alps.
