Other Cost Saving tips!

Thinking about flying?

Flights for the school holiday dates can be eye watering. Especially when you have to add on the transfer at the other end. As an alternative, have you considered taking the train? Train stations are usually conveniently located closer to ski resorts and taking the train can be an extension of your ski holiday. Get in touch to discuss our train inclusive packages.

Reduce your food shopping bill

The mountain supermarket, whilst convenient, will probably cost you more than the big supermarkets down in the valley. If you are driving it is well worth the pit stop in one of the bigger towns to do a quick shop for all the basics. Or if you are taking a transfer see if you can organise a click and collect.

Alternative school holiday weeks – New Year vs Easter

This season the New Year and half term weeks are proving to be the more expensive weeks of the season. Easter can be a great alternative, sometimes even almost half the price. Travelling this late in the season can be a bit of a worry in terms of snow for some however we do have some good high altitude options and if previous seasons are anything to go by there has been some good snowfall at this time of year.

Little Names…Little price tags

Step away from the big names and try out some of the smaller options. Some of the lesser-known ski resorts still offer some amazing skiing opportunities but the lift passes can be considerably cheaper. Not only that but some of the more traditional village restaurants are really well priced.

Picnic on the piste anyone?

On those sunny blue bird days picnics and packed lunches can be a great choice. Almost all resorts have picnic spots equipped with tables and often stunning mountain views. If you are lucky some resorts even have BBQs you can use!
