Les Saisies Mountains Biking
1 of 2 Les Saisies Mountains Biking
Les Saisies Landscape
2 of 2 Les Saisies Landscape
The setting of Les Saisies is spectacular as it lies half-way between the 'Beaufortain' valley and the 'Val d'Arly' valley, two magnificent areas of Savoy, with views towards Mont Blanc.

The location of Les Saisies, on a mountain pass, guarantees visitors some of the most breathtaking 360° panoramic views. A friendly village resort, Les Saisies has kept its original spirit and its authentic alpine hamlets.

The 'Beaufortain' with its wonderful scenery is sometimes called' The French Tyrol'. The village itself is charming with wood clad chalets and a bustling high street complete with some 40 shops and a big selection of bars, pubs, pizzerias, crêperies, grills and restaurants offering Savoyard dishes.

Activities available in Les Saisies are numerous from leisurely walks and mountain bike itineraries to most mountain pursuits. The Via Ferrata and its vertiginous views or the ‘Escaladventure’ climbing discovery centre are particularly recommended.

Mountain biking
Mountain bike trails (approved by the French Cycling Federation) for all levels and all age groups:

  • 13 XC itineraries - about 160km for all skill levels
  • 13 downhill trails from green to black, reachable via 2 lifts
  • 3 freeride tracks to practice on natural, technical or funny areas
  • 1 ludo park zone
  • Free cleaning zones

The bike patrols ensure the maintenance and safety of the mountain bike facilities. Ride the natural trails in a preserved environment.

Les Saisies's pass is located between Beaufortain and Espace Diamant bike parks. So it is possible to change the riding zone every day if you want.

Beaufortain region is famous for his freeride trails such as "la Dév'Albertville". This 19 km single track starts from Bisanne summit (2000 m high) in Les Saisies to arrive in Albertville (300 m high). There are mountain bike shuttles from the city to Les Saisies and all-around Beaufortain.

Also, the Déval'bertille is a 19km mountain bike enduro course (starting from Bisanne 2000m to Albertville 300m) for the more sporty rider. A bus service runs between Beaufort, Areches, Les Saisies and Albertville.

Mountain bikes can be rented in the resort along with all the equipment you could need.

Les Saisies Walking
Walks starting from Les Saisies, Hauteluce or Bisanne 1500. Les Saisies is located on a 1650m high path; there are a lot of easy walks for every level in the pastures and forests around. Or there are 17 marked out tracks on more than 100km, ranging in difficulty for exciting experiences. You can rent a 'carry baby' and all-terrain strollers (3 wheels) in the resort shops. Trail maps can be bought at the Tourist Office.

There are shuttles between Les Saisies, Hauteluce or Bisanne 1500. Or if you just want to enjoy the view while going down from Légette or Chard du Beurre summits, you can take one of the chairlifts open during the summer season.

The book 'Tour of Mont Blanc' from Guide publisher Cicerone, is a helpful aid for these walks: www.cicerone.co.uk.
