Montgenèvre has been shortlisted for 'Family Resort of the Year' in the World Snow Awards 2017 due to its boost in family-friendly activities over winter 2016-17. Montgenevre hosted two key events which were designed to inspire young skiers and bring families together: The 30th edition of the resort’s ‘1000 Pattes’, a day of ski racing for 5-10 year olds with spectator-friendly fun, and the Ski d’Or competition, organised by the ESF for 600 youth skiers and their parents.

New in 2017, the resort offered opportunities for families to try new types of fun on the snow with weekly sledging sessions on ‘donuts’ and ‘yooners’. Also, whole family activities from snowshoeing to fat biking benefitted from their own dedicated areas, which helped give families the confidence to try new activities.

Montgenèvre also has:

• The Monty Express – the longest ‘monorail’ toboggan in France, 1400m long (descending 300m at up to 60km/h); perfect for thrill seekers!
• Cross-country skiing races for ALL the family – fun cross-country skiing races for competitive families. Younger ones have their own specially designed course! (Weekly, in school holidays).
• Family friendly entertainment – demonstrations of different winter sports, a weekly torchlit descent with skiers in period costume and on wooden skis, ‘piste bashers ballet’, and firework displays; Montgenèvre has something to impress even the most sophisticated pre-teen! 
• Baby ESF – sessions for 2 & 3-year-olds packed with snow experiences from tobogganing and learning to ski.
