Luxury
In Sanskrit, ‘Jiva’ means life and in 2019, the hotel was revitalised with new décor, a new chef and new amenities. A further 20 rooms have been added in a new building for 2020.
The hotel is the ideal starting point to enjoy all the winter activities offered in the region, perfect for children and adults, athletic or not. The Jiva Hill Resort has become a popular family destination, thanks to an activity programme and amenities tailored specifically to children and families.
You can ski in the largest ski resort of the Monts Jura with breathtaking views of Lake Geneva. Less than 5 minutes’ drive from the resort is a cable car that takes you up directly to the ski resort of Lélex-Crozet. Dedicated to downhill skiers this resort offers some of the best slopes in the Jura mountains. There is also an hour-long snowshoe track here. Cross-country skiing can be enjoyed at the Col de la Faucille, which is less than 30 minutes’ drive from the hotel. Dog-sledding is also available just 30km from the hotel in the charming village of Mijoux.
For those who are not into winter sports, the area has plenty of alternative activities to offer, just a few kilometres from the resort. You can visit the Chateau de Voltaire in Ferney and stroll in the park or play at being scientists at CERN (the European Organisation for Nuclear Research) and discover (almost) all the secrets of the atom. Discover how Gruyère cheese is made or visit Yvoire, a delightful medieval city on the shores of Lake Geneva, or visit local vineyards to enjoy tasting Swiss and Jura wines.
Facilities at the Jiva Hill resort hotel include:
* Both restaurants offer a children’s menu
A vast private collection of more than 200 works of art by some of the world’s most renowned contemporary artists add another dimension to a resort where all the senses are engaged. Throughout the year, a series of exclusive literary and musical events contribute to the resort’s rich cultural offering.
