Reopened summer 2017, the hotel has been lovingly and stylishly transformed from a mountain refuge into a cosy, comfortable hotel providing all modern amenities, whilst retaining all its authenticity, with its austere granite exterior, its rustic alpine décor and its mountain atmosphere.
The Terminal Neige Refuge du Montenvers is offered on a half board basis: a buffet breakfast and 3-course dinner (excluding drinks), featuring local specialities, are taken in the Restaurant du Montenvers (open for lunch and dinner). Another lunch option, two minutes’ walk away, and under the same management, is the Panoramique Mer de Glace bistrot, where traditional and gourmet cuisine is served on a panoramic terrace with stunning views of the Mer de Glace.
There are now 12 bedrooms, 5 family rooms and 2 suites. 6 room types are available, all with shower and WC (except the suites, which have shower and bath and WC).
Refuge rooms (15m2) are for 1-2 guests and have either a double or 2 single beds; Mer de Glace or valley view.
Randonneur rooms (16m2) are for 1-3 guests and have a double bed and a single; valley view.
Randonneur Family rooms (23m2) are for 3-5 guests, with a double bed, bunk beds and a single; valley view.
Tribu rooms (25-30m2 or 34m2) are for 3-5, 3-6 or 4-7 guests, are split level, have Mer de Glace or valley view, and beds as follows:
3-5 guests: a double bed, 2 single beds and a single bed on a mezzanine
4-7 guests: a double bed, 2 single beds and 3 single beds on a mezzanine
Altitude suites (30m2) are for 1-3 guests and have a double bed and a single; Mer de Glace view.

Price is unless specified, per person, per week, in £s Sterling, including a Standard Eurotunnel crossing from Folkestone to Calais with a car with Free FlexiPlus upgrade on selected dates on a half board basis. A supplement will apply for travel on certain peak dates. Other routes and operators available (including P&O routes from Hull to Zeebrugge or Rotterdam plus Brittany Ferries route from Portsmouth to Caen).
