Le Richebourg 4* hotel | Burgundy

Located between Dijon and Beaune, the vineyards of the Côte d'Or in Burgundy form a 40km long ribbon of wine-growing estates on the hillsides south of Dijon, where some of the best wines in the world are produced from Nuits-Saint-Georges to Vosne-Romanée. The Climats of Bourgogne, the patchwork of clearly delimited vineyards, were included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015. They differ from each other due to their specific geology and exposure, creating a stunning mosaic effect on the landscape. This outstanding site of grape cultivation and wine production has been developed since the early Middle Ages.

Ideally situated on Burgundy’s Route des Grands Cru in the village of Vosne-Romanée, a stone's throw from the famous Romanée Conti, is Le Richebourg. This exceptional destination hotel features a gourmet restaurant and a 450m2 spa and is in a unique setting, amongst the vines in the heart of the renowned Mongeard-Mugneret wine estate.

The vineyard
: The Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret has been cultivated by the same family for more than eight generations, since around 1620 (and under its current name since 1945). The Domaine is planted with two grape varieties; a Chardonnay for the white Burgundys and a Pinot Noir, which allows the creation of some of the world’s most complex reds. It covers around 30 hectares, produces 35 appellations of white and red Burgundy wines including Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vougeot, Échezeaux and Clos de Vougeot, and 5 Grand Crus (Clos du Vougeot, Echezeaux, Richebourg, Grand Echezeaux and Echezeaux “La Grande Complication”). Keeping with tradition, the wine is made, aged (over 18 to 22 months) and then bottled at the Domaine in order to guarantee the authenticity of their vintages.

The gourmet restaurant (open daily) is run by Chef Romuald Sikorski using local, seasonal produce to create inventive dishes that reflect French gastromony and the region. As well as large windows that flood the interior of the restaurant with light, it has a beautiful terrace overlooking the kitchen garden, so naturally home-grown fruits, vegetables and herbs are used where possible! The restaurant wouldn’t be complete without an extensive wine list offering the Grands Cru de Bourgogne. Vegetarians are well catered for, as are children.

The spa: vineaSpa, which opened in 2018, is set over two floors in a new building next to the main hotel (linked by a corridor). It is open daily from 9am-8pm. The spa features a steam room, sauna, different types of experience showers, hot tub, ice fountain and a relaxation pool with massage jets. There are treatment rooms for massages and beauty treatments, open to all.
