White water activities
With its source at the Col du
Lautaret, the Guisane follows the Serre Chevalier valley. The
Guisane hasn’t got
any steep-sided gorges or raging torrents, so makes
it the ideal place for an introduction to mountain
water sports. However it can get fast and strong as
it reaches Briançon.
Time – 2hrs and 8km long. Gradient of 1.7%.
Grading of Cl II/III (4)
- E1/2.
Route is Le Monêtier les Bains – Chantemerle.
No particular difficulties, apart from the Guibertes rapids (4) that have
a 300m steep section.
