Oisans - Serre Chevalier (Chantemerle)

The resort

On the edge of the superb Ecrins National Park, Serre-Chevalier is made of 13 hamlets and villages located between the famous 'Lautaret' pass and Briançon, Europe's highest fortified town. Despite being one of the most northern point of the Provence Cote d'Azur region the area benefits from a true Mediterranean Alpine climate with over 300 days of sunshine every year.
More

Simply enjoy the beautiful scenery with the majestic Ecrins peaks or try out one of the many activities available. The ‘Altiforme’ is the perfect well being centre: sauna, Turkish and Californian baths, beauty treatments, massage, and gym. Other leisure activities in Serre Chevalier include outdoor pool complex, white water rafting, air boat and Canyoning courses, tennis club … with many more activities such as an adventure parc are in the neighbouring villages.

The village of Chantemerle at Serre Chevalier has all the shops and restaurants you will need during your holiday but in any case the larger fortified town of Briançon is only a few miles away.

The area is opened to walkers, MTB, paragliders and to anyone who enjoys a picnic or a meal in one of the numerous mountain restaurants...

Enjoy white water sports, rock climbing, MTB, thermal baths, swimming pools and many other things...

Places of interest in Serre Chevalier

·          Canal and Mill museum

·          Notre Dame des Neiges: a gorgeous place at 2200m where a pilgrimage takes place every summer.

·          The mining heritage of the region of Briançon is exceptional. The working techniques have remained traditional until the closing of the installations in the 1960. Here, you can find several objects that have disappeared from the other mining areas since the 19th century.

Route is Le Monêtier les BainsChantemerle.
