Maurienne Valley - Saint Jean d'Arves

The resort

In the sunny valley of the Aiguilles d'Arves, Saint Jean and its 22 tiny hamlets are surrounded by truly majestic peaks. This charming rural village which takes its name from the local dialect word 'Arva' (running water) is still the scene of many traditional feasts and celebrations. More

Enjoy some ‘Diots’ Savoyard sausages with ‘Polenta’ or see Beaufort cheese making at the village fête or some country dancing on Bastille Day.

With 165 km of marked and maintained biking tracks and 425km of walking paths, the Arvan-Villard range provides endless opportunities to discover the area and its breathtaking scenery. Starting from nearby the chalets, walking and biking paths will take you to the Ouillon peak at 2431m where the views will leave long lasting memories.
