Peak Retreats was set-up by two French Anglophiles, who were previously Directors of well-known UK tour companies who operated holidays to France. Their extensive experience means they understand the needs and expectations of British holidaymakers. In addition, they have the benefit of an excellent network of local contacts and have a clear advantage in dealing with French supplier partners. The Directors personally select and visit all the accommodation featured and the reservations team also get to visit the accommodation and resorts each year to give our recommendations.

Award-winning Peak Retreats 

Peak Retreats is thrilled to have won Best Ski Operator in the Telegraph Travel Awards in 2023. We were also awarded Best Ski Company in the Telegraph Travel Awards in 2019. In 2018 we were awarded the very special The Times Travel Editor's Award in the The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sunday Times Travel Magazine Awards. In 2019, we were awarded one of the first Family Traveller Excellence Awards, and in 2018 we won Best Family Ski Operator in the Family Traveller Awards, an award which we also won in 2015.

We are honoured to have been named Best Ski Company in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014 at The Guardian and Observer Travel Awards, as chosen by readers of the Guardian and Observer. We beat some tough competition to the winner's spot and came second in 2012 and 2013. 

In 2017, we were finalists in the Best Family Ski Operator category in the Family Traveller Awards and also made the top 3 in the Best Ski Tour Operator category in the Telegraph Travel Awards 2017, as voted for by their readers!

We were voted Best Independent Ski Operator 2006 and Best Tour Operator to France 2005 by Maison de la France (now Atout France), the French Tourist Office.

Peak Retreats was voted Best Ski Operator by readers of The Telegraph at the 2023 Telegraph Travel Awards.

Peak Retreats was voted Best Ski Company by readers of The Telegraph at the 2019 Telegraph Travel Awards. 

Family Traveller Excellence Award 2019

Peak Retreats won one of the first Family Traveller Excellence Awards in November 2019. The award winners were selected by a readers vote and a judging panel that included children for the first time.

Winner - The Times Travel Editor's Award 2018

Peak Retreats was presented with this very special award in September 2018. The Times Travel Editor, Jane Knight, summed up Peak Retreats as 'a great ski company with charismatic villages and a slice of rural France', which is exactly what we offer on our summer holidays too.

The award was presented by French Minister for Tourism, Leon Bertrand and Maison de la France Director General, Thierry Baudier at the MIT International Trade show in Paris in October 2005

When booking a package with Peak Retreats you can rest assured that you are booking with an ABTA member and that your package holiday wiill be bonded with ABTA. This is your best guarantee of complete financial security for your package holiday, a guarantee you do not receive when booking with your accommodation and transport independently. Peak Retreats is member of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) number W5537 so your holiday is in safe hands. Peak Retreats is fully bonded with ABTA for package holidays.

Peak Retreats is a member of ABTA but does not require to hold an ATOL license run by the CAA as these are only for operators who offer flight inclusive packages that we don't offer.

Not only ABTA have strict joining criteria but they also provide us with bonding arrangements so in the unlikely event of our insolvency, any money paid to us for a package holiday would be refunded to you by ABTA or monies may be transferred to another ABTA operator with whom you make alternative holiday arrangements. Thus your money and your holiday are fully protected. Our financial bonding arrangements with ABTA comply with the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992.

We are also members of the Association of British Tour Operators to France (ABTOF).
