Situated in the pretty Chamonix Valley, with
outstanding views towards the surrounding
majestic peaks, Chalet La Tanière
is set in the quiet ‘Bossons’ area,
100m from the Bossons station (train goes to
Chamonix centre, Argentiere and is free with
tourist card) 500m from the Gaillands lake and
about 3km from both the Aiguille du Midi cable
car and Planpraz/Brévent lift; a car is
highly recommended although the
free Chamonix ski bus stops only 100m away. The
first shops are under a mile away.
The owner of this large chalet also owns a home
furnishing design business (located underneath
chalet) in Chamonix, so the chalet is very well
appointed and decorated in a very stylish pure
mountain style throughout. It is also very
bright with superb views from most of the
rooms.
The sun facing chalet is arranged over 2
spacious floors and was totally renovated for
the 2008/2009 season. It sleeps up to 12 people
in 4 bedrooms and an alcove: On the ground
floor there is one double with en-suite shower.
The other bedrooms are on the first floor: one
double with en-suite bathroom with bath;
another family double with ensuite shower
on one side and an alcove room
(with window) with built-in bunk beds
on the other; a large twin bedroom with ensuite
shower which also has built-in wooden bunk
beds. All doubles are king size and
all mattresses are top end memory
foam type. There are separate WCs on the
ground floor and first floor.
On the ground floor the bright open plan
lounge/dining area is equipped with a large
Finnish log burner. The fully equipped open
plan kitchen area has all the conveniences of a
modern home (large full size cooker, microwave,
dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker…)
and other useful appliances such as espresso
machine, raclette and fondue sets. Open thread
stairs lead to the first floor
south-facing lounge with its comfortable
seating and a large plasma TV.
Also available: a utility room with washing
machine and tumble dryer, a lounge/library room
with large flat screen TV and DVD and VHS
players and unlimited wireless internet
connection (take your own laptop), baby kit
(including cot, high chair, changing table and
feeding accessories). Space for skis and boots,
1 covered parking space plus two other spaces
(free outdoor public car park nearby),
furnished terrace and enclosed 500m2
garden area.
For your
comfort, the chalet is strictly non-smoking and
pets are not allowed. The radiators and log
burner on the first floor are made of stone and
can get very hot, requiring close supervision
with toddlers. Similarly the stairs are open
thread and without a banister, child
supervision may also be needed.
Prices include: fully equipped chalet,
bed linen (with beds made on arrival), towels,
tea towels, partial end of stay cleaning and
wood for the log burner.
