Mont-Blanc/Val d'Arly - Notre-Dame de Bellecombe

The resort

Notre Dame de Bellecombe is an enchantingly picturesque village with a distinctive bulb-shaped bell tower that dates back to the 11th century. This ancient farming community is made up of 11 tiny hamlets with a permanent population of only 510 people. It is situated above Flumet in the rural Val d'Arly between Megève and Albertville. More

The landscape at Notre-Dame de Bellecombe consists of spruce forests, alpine chalets set on mountain pastures, and snow capped peaks. Notre-Dame de Bellecombe is easy to get to, from the south via Alberville or from the north via Sallanches – both 25 km from the motorway exits, or by TGV and connecting buses.

Words do not do justice to the village of Notre-Dame de Bellecombe, with its Baroque steeple as a centre piece and traditional wooden chalets spreading over 11 hamlets. The long sunny days at Notre-Dame de Bellecombe are filled with traditional trade exhibitions and wine festivals as well as walks through the stunning scenery with fascinating wildlife and beautiful flowers. A local market is held every Monday morning in Notre-Dame de Bellecombe.

Skiing

Gentle nursery slopes and scenic pistes with magnificent views of Mont Blanc wind down through the spruce woods of Notre Dame be Bellecombe. This is an ideal area for novices and intermediates, with plenty of off-piste opportunities for more accomplished skiers. More

SKI AREA

Notre Dame is linked to neighbouring Flumet and Praz sur Arly. It is also connected to the pistes of Les Saisies and Crest-Voland to create the giant Espace Diamant ski area serving 185km of groomed slopes.

60% of the slopes in Espace Diamant are green or blue so perfect for beginners and intermediates. There are plenty of slopes for the adventurous intermediate and expert too.

BEGINNERS

There are various drag lifts and nursery slopes at the bottom of the ski area at 1150m. A chairlift takes you further up to access further greens and some long blues to progress on. You can also get the bus to nearby Crest Voland where there are further long green slopes.

INTERMEDIATES

Intermediate skiers are well looked after with many blue and red runs to explore on. The domain is quite large (185km) so there is plenty to keep the adventurous intermediate happy.

EXPERTS

There aren’t too many black runs (around 11 in total) in the Espace Diamant domain but there are plenty of red runs that make up for this (around 47 in total).

RESORT RUNS

Resort runs are blue or red back down to Notre Dame 1150m.

Please note that lesson times are subject to change right until the last minute. Outside French school holidays the ski school reserves the right to cancel group lessons should numbers be insufficient. For peak periods (18/12-2/1, 13/2-13/3 & 9/4-24/4) we strongly recommend that you book as early as possible and in any case at least 6 weeks prior to the required dates. Morning lessons tend to get booked up first and therefore we may only be able to offer afternoon classes within 6 weeks of departure. In some resorts English speaking instructors may not always be available, particularly at peak times.
