From the summit of Pic Blanc ski area it offers at 3300m unique perspectives of the surrounding mountains to Italy and the Massif Central.

Well designed and traffic free (there is a large underground parking), Oz en Oisans in France is safe for children and much quieter than nearby bustling Alpe d’Huez.

The ski school, nursery slopes, main gondola lift, bars, restaurants, sport shops, supermarket, nursery and ice rink are all within a short walking distance of each other in Oz en Oisans ski resort. This makes Oz en Oisans the ideal resort for a hassle-free family holiday.

PMI approved, the Daycare is a collective structure and thus DT Polio vaccination is mandatory.The health record or immunization card to date are now required at registration.
For foreigners, a medical certificate indicating the absence of symptoms of tuberculosis is required, and the vaccination card.

Ice rink

Opening times: all afternoons, 4-7pm on Mon-Sat and 3-6pm on Sun. Tues night from 8-10pm. Price includes all materials €2 - €2.50.

Climbing

Recently built and offering a wide choice of routes for all levels, Oz's climbing wall is available to you freely. Come with your gear and call the Tourist Office.

Snowshoeing

Mountain instructors regularly organize day or night time outings. Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, Alain Hilion, accompanist, offers snowshoeing demi-journée ou le mercredi soir au clair de lune, à la découverte d'étendues de neige vierge dans un half-day or Wednesday evening in the moonlight, and discover expanses of virgin snow in a décor majestueux.majestic setting.

Pedestrian walks
Walkers can explore the massif. Take a gondola from Oz:

-Access the altitude of 2000m and marked pedestrian trails, altitude restaurants and nordic skiing tracks
- to visit the ice cave (2700 m)
- to admire one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Alps from the Pic Blanc summit (3330m)

Parapente
You could hang-glide in company with qualified instructors. Two-seaters hang-gliding on the Massif.

Movies

Recent films are broadcast in the village hall every Thurs during the winter season. Extra session on Tues during school holidays. From €5 per adult.

Night skiing and toboggan night

Every Wednesday of the season, come and ski on the trail of the snow front. The resort offers an animated slide further on Mondays during school holidays.

Pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi

In a covered pool of 175 m², Oz has a leisure pool with water heated to

30 ° but also a spa-leisure space with swan neck, beds and chairs and massage jet stream. The sauna or steam room offers relaxation and regeneration. Open Sunday through Friday from 10 am to 12 pm and 15 pm to 19 pm. Price: from € 5.00 (adults)

Ice Cave

At 2700 meters, at the foot of the Pic Blanc cable car, two mountain guides, Bruno and Bernard Lambolez each winter dig an ice cave. theme of this year “Ancient Greece".

Snowcat ride

The SATA, ski lift company, offers every Wednesday at 14 am 00 circuit

around Lakes to explore the surrounding peaks, the cascades of ice and frozen lakes.

Luge

Located on the snow front, next to the gondola Poutran in Oz.
Free and open access by treadmill.

In Alpette

Onsite toboggan run free but pedestrian or ticket package to provide access to Alpette. Access by cable car to the Alpette only.

Eating Out and Après-Ski in Oz en Oisans

8 restaurants (inc. La Ferme d’Oz which offers catered options for clients at Chalet des Neiges) and 4 more on the slopes, a couple of bars. Other restaurants and bars in the surrounding hamlets (3). More lively après ski at Alpe d’Huez.

SKI AREA

What makes this area so satisfying is its many-sided slopes. They face in all directions, so skiers can always find the best snow and conditions by simply following the sun!

There are 4 sectors that make up the Grand Domaine – 3 in Alpe d’Huez and then the Vaujany/Oz sector. This sector consist of largely north-west facing slopes.

Oz has long been the starting point for climbs of the Massif des Grandes remains at the heart of Oisans, a country of mountains. The resort provides access to 240 km of slopes on skis between 1100 and 3330 meters above sea level. For experts you can take a series of black and red runs from the Pic Blanc at 3300m down the Vaujany village (you can catch the gondolas back up though to get back to Oz).

The skiing & snowboarding in Oz is spectacular with fantastic views all round from glaciers and forests to villages nestling in the valleys below. You can ski back home on a choice of gentle blue or red slopes.

Vaujany/Oz local ski area - this area extends from Oz to Vaujany & Alpe d 'Huez on 70 km runs from 1100 to 2800m. Taking shape on the west side, it has particularly particulpleasant sunshine.

2011- There is a new blue run down to the resort - Les Chevreuils.

BEGINNERS

There are some nursery slopes at the base of the mountain and further greens at the top of the Alpette gondola. Take the Poutran I&II gondola to Alpe d’Huez and here you will find no less than 20 green slopes all spread along the mountainside right above Alpe d’Huez. Quite an impressive area for beginners.

INTERMEDIATES

Directly above Oz there are some red runs or try the blue runs at Vaujanys Montfrais just off the top of the Alpette gondola. There are plenty of intermediate runs towards Alpe d’Huez and in an area called Signal.

EXPERTS

Grand Domaine is also home to many black pistes towards Alpe d’Huez. There are quite a few blacks at Pic Blanc, the highest point at 3330m. Don’t leave without trying the longest black run in the Alps – the Sarenne which is over the other side of Alpe d’Huez. It’s a whopping 16km in length. You can ski this run by moonlight with a guide for around €65.

OFF-PISTE

Off-piste enthusiasts have an immense choice too, including a run with a vertical drop of 2600 metres.

Snow Cannons

The Grand Domaine massif covers 8 villages (including Vaujany, Oz-en-Oisans, Alpe d’Huez…), with 240 km of marked slopes. Already equipped with one of the largest snow-production plants, the area now has a second automatic snow production unit, supplying a further 75 km of slopes via 923 snow canons.

Please note that lesson times are subject to change right until the last minute. Outside French school holidays the ski school reserves the right to cancel group lessons should numbers be insufficient. For peak periods (18/12-2/1, 13/2-13/3 & 9/4-24/4) we strongly recommend that you book as early as possible and in any case at least 6 weeks prior to the required dates. Morning lessons tend to get booked up first and therefore we may only be able to offer afternoon classes within 6 weeks of departure. In some resorts English speaking instructors may not always be available, particularly at peak times.

Saturday all day except holidays, subject to availability of instructors. For personal advice, alone with your monitor or your instructor, you progress quickly regardless of your level. Midday lessons.

Cross-country in Grand Domaine

50 km of Cross Country pistes at Bourg d’Oisans and 50km at Alpe d’Huez also Cross Country Skiing available in nearby villages.

Nordic skiing can be practiced at the altitude of 2000 m and the tracks can be accessed by gondolalifts between December and April.

Miles of nordic tracks are also available in the Oisans plain, starting from Allemont. A free shuttle links OZ Resort to Allemont in about 15 minutes.
