Mountain biking in Les Deux Alpes with Peak Retreats
For several years the resort has put mountain biking
into consideration when managing tracks and paths,
organising competitions, the Tour de France, and in
the use of the winter ski lifts. It has
developed to such an extent that today there are
action-packed mountain bike events throughout the
summer months. Les Deux Alpes events include Le
Mondial du VTT from 19st-22th
June 2008; Mountain of Hell Episode VIII from
18th-20nd July 2008.
Oisans events include UCI World Cup and French Cup
the Traversee de l’Oisans MTB XC Marathon.
This summer Les Deux Alpes has increased the number
of its routes from 12 to 21 and the number of lifts
from 7 to 8. There is also now a shuttle bus
linking Freney, Auris and l’Alpe d’Huez
with Les Deux Alpes. There are 2 maintained
areas for summer downhill mountain biking: the Pied
Moutet area and the Jandri area.
