Notre-Dame de Bellecombe Snow Report – 1999-2007 (8 year average)

Notre Dame de Bellecombe normally benefits from an above average snow record for its altitude range thanks to the microclimate resulting from the proximity of Mont Blanc. Sufficient snow cover is expected from Christmas until mid-April. Nearby Les Saisies (see Les Saisies snow record) is on the same Espace Diamand ski area and benefits from an excellent snow record. If during early or late season conditions are not perfect in Notre Dame de Bellecombe the resort has traditionally put in place shuttles to Les Saisies. Here is the snow record data for Notre Dame de Bellecombe. The first row shows the week for which the measurement applies eg. February 3 is the 3rd week in February. Top slopes shows the average snow cover in cm at the top of the ski area. Bottom Slopes shows the average snow cover in cm at the bottom of the ski area (this is generally where the nursery pistes are located). About 10 cm is generally enough to ski but it very much depends on what’s below ie. grass or more rocky surface.
