Mountain Painters show - The mountain, source of inspiration for all the artists taking part in this exhibition, is either blazing, coloured, disturbing or quite simply beautiful. Drawings, watercolours, oils, acrylic resins - all the different are on show. More than 150 paintings by professional and amateur painters are on show in four rooms. Open to the public from 4.00 to 7.00 pm every day except Saturday.

The summer cheese is brought down the mountainside on toboggans. From the mountain pasture of Lécheron to the hamlet of Le Bois. Sale of cheese on arrival, a picturesque and lively morning!

Every Sunday, local people and the Tourist Office invite newcomers for a drink and a presentation of the activities of the week!

 

 

The Tourist office is open everyday in July and August: welcoming, information about accommodations,activities, tourist and practical informations. Weatherforecast. Internet access.

> Exceptional views over the Vanoise glaciers.

> Departure for easy walks through fields of rhododendrons or more difficult walks… or return to the village by the footpath in forest, not far from the bilberries and the raspberries.

> Departure for mountain bikes trails.

> Paragliding launch spot (an additional 20 mn by foot).

Glacier museum  -At Champagny le Haut (le Bois / 205-G1), in the restored ex-presbytery. Unique in the Alpes.

The museum is dedicated to the mountain glaciers: exposition of articles, cards, illustrations, models, settings, visual and sound documents. 3 themes are illustrated: the discovery of the Vanoise glaciers; their symbolic and mythological meanings; their historical and scientist approach. Open every day except Sat 3-7pm. €3/adult

 

 

Painting courses from July 28 to August 1 and from August 4 to 8th 2008. All formulas (half-day, 1 day or more), 15 €/half-day - 28 €/day. Not provided: painting gear.
