Enduro Series

Enduro racing is a renowned though little developed sport in the world of mountain biking.

The goal is simple: during an entire weekend, competitors record their best individual times

down a predetermined number of downhill courses. Indeed, there is little to no direct confrontation between the riders! This year, the Enduro Series will start in Les Gets.

The 2011, «Salon du Cycle» (Bicycle Show) will be held in Les Gets. This 7th edition will last 3 full days! That’s one day more than usual to discover all the latest cycling products and explore the Porte du Soleil area.

During one full week, the resort’s terraces, bars and restaurants will come alive to the music of acoustic groups. Grab a cocktail, lay back in your deckchair or chaise longue, and enjoy the various styles of music: jazz, gipsy, folk, etc.

Holders of the Portes du Soleil pass (must be purchased) for the 2010/2011 winter season are granted a 50 % discount on the 2011 summer rate. Free for children under 5.

Chocolate workshop – After donning chef’s hats, aprons and gloves, the apprentice chocolate-makers cut the biscuits, chop up the walnuts, raisins and pistachios, and stir the chocolaty mixture while the dark chocolate (70% cacao) is kept warm in a bain-marie. After shaping and coating, the participants obtain a mouth-watering «sausage» of chocolate, which they take away to enjoy after the class.

Every Thursday at 2 pm. Duration: 1 hour.

Open to everyone, 5 years and up. Rate: €9.

Maison des Gets.

EVERY WEDNESDAY: 9 am: Guided tour of the Les Perrières cheese dairy. Discover and taste Les Gets local cheeses. At the Fruitière des Perrières dairy. Free. 2 pm: Football tournament. Friendly footie competition at the Lac des Ecoles municipal stadium. Starting at 4:30 pm, ambulatory spectacle through the village streets. 5:30 pm: Free tour of the Les Gets artisan pottery workshop. Potter’s wheel and enamelling demonstrations by Anouk. At the Ferme de la Sarre. 15 pers. max. 7:30 pm: Evening pétanque competition. Onsite registration starting at 6:30 pm. Two on two. Municipal pétanque field of La Colombière.

EVERY THURSDAY morning: Traditional market at the Parking du Marais. 10:30 am: Guided tour of the Place de la Maison des Gets garden.

From 2 to 3 pm: Chocolate workshop. Succumb to this delicious workshop that consists of preparing and taking home a chocolate based

dish. Registration at the Chalet du Chocolat. For 5 years and older, 20 pers. max. €9/pers. 6 pm: Visit to the Chèvrerie de la Sarre goat’s
