Future Plans for Les
Carroz ski
area
Objective Christmas
2009: Replacement of the
Molliets
chairlift
Replacement of the Molliets chairlift* by a
new “high speed” detachable
6-seater chairlift, which will be capable of
carrying up to 3000 people per hour.
* Gateway to the Les Carroz – Grand
Massif ski area, 5km from the centre of Les
Carroz, towards
Flaine.
THIS PART IS DUE TO BE
COMPLETE FOR XMAS 2009
Objective Christmas 2009:
Creation of a designated beginners’
area
At the top of the Kédeuse
telecabine, beside the
Crêtes
draglift, a designated beginners’ area
will be created to enhance learning conditions
and improve safety.
Objective Christmas 2010: Replacement of
the Airon and Gentiane
chairlifts
Replacement of the Airon and Gentiane chairlifts by a
single new “high speed” detachable
6-seater chairlift, which will be capable of
carrying up to 3000 people per hour.
From 2007 to 2012: Development of the
snow-making network
30 new snow cannons will augment the 60
already in operation in the Les Carroz ski
area. They will primarily be used
on the Combe blue
piste, ensuring an alternative route for
returning to the village on skis, throughout
the season, from the Gron sector.
Objective 2011: Enlargement of the Airon Lake
The Airon Lake, a
reservoir used for snow-making and drinking
water, as well as a tourist attraction in the
summer, will be enlarged. The plan is to
double its current capacity to a total volume
of 160,000 m3 to boost the water flow necessary
for the snow cannons.
