To do

The variety of landscapes is amazing thanks to the largest Natural Reserve of the Department at Sixt Fer à Cheval, several lakes at altitude, numerous waterfalls (more than 30), glaciers at the bottom of the valley, great alpine pastures, and marvellous forests. With many chairlifts and cable cars running throughout the summer, access is as easy as you want it to be!

Food

Apart from the ubiquitous Fondue, discover the tomme de Savoie and raclette cheeses, the famous Magland sausage produced in the same way for centuries from 100% natural products, and try the local honey and Savoie apples. “Les Gorges des Tines” in Sixt and “De Ballancy” at La Frasse, near les Carroz, are specially recommended for their cheeses. ‘Le Farçon’, a potato dish with an interesting mix of bacon, raisins and prunes, should be tried with a local Mondeuse wine.
