The resort of Val Cenis is celebrating turning 50 this April! We hope that when we reach the big 5 0 that someone throws a week-long party as good as this for us!
So if you’re tempted by a last week of skiing before the end of the season or just want to do something different for the Easter holidays then heading to Val Cenis for the week 1st-8th April would be a pretty good plan.
The highlight of the week is the spectacular LUMIERES! show that will take place on Thursday 6th April. The show promises to ‘shed light on half a century of innovation’ and will involve a light show being projected on to the facades of the buildings in Val Cenis Lanslebourg, there’s a torchlit descent, a traditional French ‘bal’ for those who like a dance, and the evening will also include a massive (XXL to be precise!) firework display.
There are activities going on in the village all week from concerts as diverse as a performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to French singer, Gérard Lenorman, who represented France in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest! On Sunday the 2nd April, you can enjoy night skiing and a DJ night at the foot of the slopes.
There’s plenty for children to enjoy too, with activities in the village all week, and Le Cirque Blanc ski circus on Monday 3rd April.
It's not too late to join in the fun! We still have availability in our self-catered accommodation from 3* - 4* such as 3* Superior Les Alpages de Val Cenis. It's located at the foot of the slopes; 50m from the Pre Novel chairlift, the lift pass office and the ski school meeting point; and just 500m from the village centre - a good location to enjoy both the skiing and the 50th birthday celebrations.
